BANGOR – Marilyn J. Howard, 72, was taken to be with her mom and dad by her Lord Oct. 11, 2008. She was born Oct. 29, 1935, in Woodland, Aroostook County, the daughter of Harold and Gladys (Curtis) Howard. Marilyn was employed by Eastern Maine Medical Center for many years and was a member of Columbia Street Baptist Church. She is survived by two brothers, Galen Howard and his wife, Beverly, of Hampden and Dale Howard of Goodyear, Ariz.; two sisters, Novella Howard of Old Town and Clarice and her husband, Bruce Dickinson, of Glenburn; four nieces and six nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Reta and her husband, Eric Elmstedt; and sister-in-law, Patricia Howard. The family thanks the staff at Ross Manor for the wonderful care they gave Marilyn. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Peter Sprague, pastor of Columbia Street Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. Tuesday until the time of service. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden.
