RUTH L. (THAYER) KING

RUTH L. (THAYER) KING – BANGOR – Ruth L. (Thayer) King, 97, wife of the late Thomas W. King, died Oct. 13, 2008, at a Bangor health care center. She was born Nov. 2, 1910, in Bangor, the daughter of Ralph W. Ardrey (Nutting) Thayer. Ruth was a graduate of Bangor High School. She was an artist and enjoyed her cats. A loving mother and homemaker, Ruth is survived by her son, Donald W. King and his wife, Nancy, of Glenburn; one daughter, Lorna J. Morton and her husband, Ed, of Rhode Island; a special grandson, William A. Renfro and his wife, Marilyn, of Bangor; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Ralph W. Thayer Jr.; and a son, Carleton “Winkie” King. Ruth’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to Westgate Manor for the loving care given to Ruth during her stay. A private graveside service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
