KENDUSKEAG – Guy Ancel Spinney Jr., 73, died unexpectedly Oct. 16, 2008, at his residence. He was born Nov. 14, 1934, in Woodville, the son of Guy A. and Minnie E. (Day) Spinney. Guy worked at Jordan Meats and C. H. Rice Co., as a meat cutter for many years, until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed the woods. He was a wonderful gardener and was complimented on how straight he kept his rows. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years, Alma E. (Lovely) Spinney; a sister, Evelyn J. Lyons; a stepbrother Stilman G. Hayes; and a daughter-in-law, Cathy Doughty. Guy is survived by two sons, David A. Spinney of Kenduskeag and Dana G. Spinney and wife, Kathy, of Charleston; a daughter, Sheila L. Doughty and husband, Bryan, of Kenduskeag; grandchildren, Jessica Reynolds and husband, Oscar, Jonathan Spinney, Jeremy “Bud” Spinney, Christopher Doughty and special friend, Mindy, Mathew Doughty and partner, Bob, Tony and Missy Shorey of Levant; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Samuel F. Spinney of Charleston, Ernest H. Spinney of Corinth and Wesley Spinney of Corinth; six sisters, Emma Ashbury of New York, Hazel Stevens of New York, Irene Clements of Corinth, Ethel Mullen of Levant, Linda Theriault of Milo and Shirley Hill of Kenduskeag; numerous other family and many special friends. Friends are invited to call 1-2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Interment will be at Kenduskeag Cemetery, Kenduskeag.
