HERMON – Harold W. Freeman, 70, died unexpectedly, Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 23, 1938, in Hermon, the son of Harold L. Freeman and Leona I. (Pinkham) Freeman. Harold attended Hermon schools. He was a self-employed mechanic and loved tinkering, fishing, spending time with family and friends. Harold was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, and volunteered for Lynx. He will be sadly missed by his children, Colleen and husband, George Maskell, Cheryl Cronk and partner, Francis Stewart, Karen and husband, Michael Thurston, Jeffrey Freeman, Harold L. Freeman, Marsha Freeman, Pamela and husband, Jeffrey Duckworth, Alphonse and wife, Laurie Seymour, and Sue-Ann Seymour; 18 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra White; brother, James Freeman and his wife, Ann; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Violet J. Freeman. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Snows Corner Cemetery, Hermon, with the Rev. Herman C. Frankland, pastor of Messiah Baptist Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 163 Lancaster St., Suite 98R, Portland, ME 04101.
