EASTON – Robert E. Thompson, 67, died unexpectedly early Friday morning Oct. 17, 2008, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born in China, Maine, the son of Rhoda Thompson and Kenneth Holmes. Robert worked as a carpenter and was a jack-of-all-trades. He is survived by three sons, Robert of Alabama, Jonathan of Easton and Gregory Thompson of Caribou; four daughters, Rose McEwen of Caribou, Jessica Parady of Fort Fairfield, Heidi Thompson of Ashland and Laurie Shackett of Perham; two brothers, Frank Blackstone of Caribou and John Holmes of Blaine; three sisters, Velva Fortin of Woodland, Gladys Kimball of Limestone and Norma Jean Porterfield of Okla.; and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Andrew in 1982; a brother, Kenneth Holmes; and a sister, Peggy Jo Holmes. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at Washburn Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Bruce Blakney officiating. Relatives and friends may call noon-1 p.m. at the church.
