BUCKSPORT – Antoinette P. Oak, 84, died peacefully Oct. 17, 2008, at her family camp near Rockwood, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born June 30, 1924, in Old Town. “Toni” was a loving wife and mother. She loved family vacations and events, berry picking, cooking, church gatherings and attending her bridge club, along with her many other interests. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Wendell Oak of Bucksport; her son, John Oak of Bucksport; her sister, Anita Jameson of Old Town; her brother, Maynard Paradis and his wife, Juliette, of Old Town; her sister-in-law, Betty Paradis of Old Town; her brother-in-law, Ivan Oak and his wife, Marilyn, of Hondo, Texas; her brother-in-law, Allan Oak of Cincinnati; many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Rose Paradis; two brothers, Armand Paradis and Leland Paradis; sister, Honorine Lousier; and her 4-year-old sister, Pearl Paradis. Toni’s husband and son thank all of the family, friends and neighbors for their thoughts and prayers throughout the years. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian burial 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 158 Franklin St., Bucksport, with Father James Plourde, celebrant. After the Mass there will be a reception for all in the lower level church hall.
