SKOWHEGAN – Autumn L. Meader, 21, went back to heaven Oct. 19, 2008. She slipped peacefully from us at her home in the arms of her parents and surrounded by her loving MCD family. Autumn was born and the world was blessed March 11, 1987. Autumn was raised in Pittsfield and was a graduate of Maine Central Institute. Her life was brief, but her ability to touch hearts and lives was tremendous. She taught us all what true strength of character and the ability to “not sweat the small stuff” was all about. Autumn loved Bert and Ernie, Barney and winning at cards. She had a wonderful sense of humor with a very infectious laugh. Autumn is survived by both her moms, Sandy Mitchell of Plymouth and Katrina Gilley of Skowhegan; both her dads, Gary Meader of Skowhegan and Chris Mitchell of Plymouth; her brothers, Sgt. Joshua Meader, currently serving in Iraq, and Robert Gallant of Skowhegan; paternal grandmother, Pat “Grammie Irwin” of Skowhegan; and maternal grandmother, Donna Crafferty of Lincoln. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins that each held a special place in her heart. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at First Baptist Church of Pittsfield where visitation will begin one hour prior. Arrangements under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan.
