HOULTON and MONTICELLO – Almon H. Rush, 80, died Oct. 26, 2008, at a local health care facility. He was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Monticello, the son of Eric and Otalee (Harris) Rush. Almon served in the U.S. Army in the Quarter Master Corps during World War II and Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. Almon was employed by Aroostook Print Shop for 30-plus years. After his retirement he did several jobs throughout Aroostook County. Almon is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Bailey) Rush of Houlton; one son, Terry Rush and his wife, SunAe, of Fairbanks, Alaska; three daughters, Patricia Flewelling and her husband, Frank, Diana Reece and her husband, Berny, and Sue Heath and her husband, Joel, all of Houlton; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, plus one on the way; one brother, Austin Rush of Augusta; three sisters, Norma Webb of Island Falls, Frances Rush of Houlton and Erla Chase of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; great-grandson, Benjamin Rush; and a sister, Esma Omicioli. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Dunn Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Wayne Robertson and James Briggs officiating.
