DANFORTH – Samuel B. Grass, 91, died Oct. 18, 2008, at a Bangor VA nursing home. He was born July 29, 1917, at Forest Station, the son of Edward and Minnie (Grass) Grass. He worked as a cook on the railroad, but most of his life, he worked as a carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army, Sept. 11, 1942 – Feb. 7, 1946. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Murray Grass, Gilford Grass and George Grass; sisters, Gladys Carlow, Lydia Knights, Grace Knights and Hazel King. He is survived by many nieces and nephews; also a lot of good friends he made on life’s travels.
