STOCKTON SPRINGS – Peter E. Perkins, 71, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at a Belfast hospital, with his loving family by his side. He was born June 16, 1937, in Stockton Springs, a son of Harold and Rebecca (Hathaway) Perkins. Peter served in the U.S. Air Force, was a proud member of Jerry Dobbins American Legion Post No. 157, Knights of Pythias Lodge No. 56, IBEW Local No. 1253, as well as a trustee for Sandy Point Congregational Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie (Bean) Perkins; his children, Cheryl Waters and husband, Michael, of Glenville, Ga., Keith Perkins and wife, Jenny, of Bucksport, Richard Perkins and wife, Vickie, of Winterport, Denise Perkins-Fields and husband, Scott, of Bucksport; stepdaughter, Cathy Conn of Old Town; and stepson, Eric Conn and wife, Sara, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich. Peter is also survived by grandchildren, Michelle Drew, Elizabeth Davis, Richard Perkins, Lauren Perkins-Fields and Nathaniel Perkins-Fields; as well as five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Sandy Point Congregational Church, Route One, Sandy Point, with the Rev Ruth Martin officiating. Burial will be after the funeral at Sandy Point Cemetery. The Ladies Aid of Sandy Point will provide refreshments at the church after the service. All are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Peter’s memory may be made to Jerry Dobbins American Legion Post No. 157, care of Clarence Elden, 185 Sandy Point Road, Stockton Springs, ME 04981 or Sandy Point Congregational Church, P.O.
