LIMESTONE – Elizabeth W. Albert, 65, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, with her family by her side, at a Caribou health care facility. She was born Oct. 10, 1943, in Fayetteville, N.C., the daughter of Louise Wagner. Libby moved to Limestone at an early age and attended Limestone schools. She met and married John Albert Sr., with whom she would share 48 years of marriage. Libby worked at Loring Air Force Base as a short order cook at the ski chalet, golf course, NCO Club and bowling alley, and worked in the bakery at the commissary. John and Libby spent the last three winters together in Riverview, Fla. She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to John, she is survived by three sons, Tom, John Jr., and Jamie and his wife, Michelle, all of Limestone; a daughter, Lisa Cantafio and her husband, Terry, also of Limestone; and seven grandchildren who all knew and loved her as MeMe. She also leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Barbara Brock of Tampa, Fla., and Lou Ann Watt and her husband, Albert, of Cross Lake; as well as a brother-in-law, Paul Albert of Riverview, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by a son, Steven Charles Albert. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant. Interment will take place after the service at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone. The family extends an invitation to join them after the interment for a time of refreshment in the church fellowship hall.
