MARS HILL – Robert Shaw, 81, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at a Houlton health care facility. He was born March 5, 1927, in Groveland, Mass., the son of Oscar F. and Madolyn (Richardson) Shaw. Robert worked in Connecticut for many years as a caterer before returning to Mars Hill. He is survived by an aunt, Margaret Bragdon of Safety Harbor, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Vernon Ford of Mars Hill; four nieces and a nephew. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Ford. A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Pierce Cemetery, Mars Hill, with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating.
