ITHACA, N.Y. – Thomas Jeffrey Foley, “Tommy Frank,” 43, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008. He was born Feb. 27, 1965, in Bristol, Conn., the son of Richard and Patricia Foley. As a child Thomas loved to spend time four-wheeling and water-skiing. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. His passion for music led to a lifelong career in broadcasting, where he touched many lives. He used his connections through radio to aid countless charitable organizations. He founded the “Bras across Maine” campaign, was involved with the March of Dimes, Children’s Miracle Network and many other organizations. Most recently, he launched a new radio station, WFIZ, in Ithaca, N.Y. In addition to his parents, Thomas is survived by his sons, Sean Corbett of Topsham, Nate Foley and Justin Shenk of Cincinnati; two sisters, Laurie Foley and Robin Emery; his nieces and nephew, Amber Shorey, Meagan and John Emery; his best friend, James “Shootis” Remeschatis; his grandmother, Stella Pelkey; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Robert Pelkey, R. Kenneth Foley and Pauline A. Foley. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, director of chaplaincy services at Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating.
