ELLSWORTH – Clyde G. Cushing, 56, died Nov. 2, 2008, surrounded by his family at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 17, 1952, in Barre, Vt., the son of Ronald and Margaret (Connor) Cushing Sr. Clyde worked for Ray Plumbing Co., as a master plumber for 34 years enjoying everyday of his job. He was involved as a leader in the Boy Scouts since 1981 where he served as a cubmaster, scoutmaster, commissioner, and was awarded District Award of Merit and Wood Badge Honor. Clyde was a member of Senator Hale Hose Co. and Ellsworth Fire Department for nine years and Booshway of the Ancient Ones of Maine, a black powder re-enactment group. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Pam of Ellsworth; his mother, Margaret of Washington, Vt.; son, Clyde Cushing II of Ellsworth; daughter, Jodie Cushing and companion, Darren Robinson, of Surry; brothers, George Cushing and wife, Evelyn, of Plainfield, Vt., Ronald Cushing Jr. and wife, Sylvia, of Websterville, Vt., Sidney Cushing and wife, Loretta, of Williamstown, Vt., Kevin Cushing of Barre, Vt., and John Paul Cushing and wife, Sandy, of Washington, Vt.; sisters, Donna Bahghart and husband, Mike, of Barre, Vt., Gail Currier and husband, Lee, of Washington, Vt., and Peggy Jo Bosley and husband, Stephen, of Springfield, Vt.; many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his canine family, Patches and Oreo. A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
