GORHAM – On Nov. 1, 2008, Melinda Hesketh passed away at the Gorham House, Gorham. Melinda was born April 27, 1962, in Bangor. At about three weeks old she was adopted by Sallie and Charles Hesketh and came home to Dover-Foxcroft as their daughter. She was educated for a short time in Dover-Foxcroft schools, then in Old Orchard schools and Sweetzer Home. At a later time she got her GED. At an early age, she was found to have Fredericks Ataxia, a crippling disease. She then spent the rest of her life in hospitals and special homes. For the last 15 or more years she was completely paralyzed from her neck down. She had been in the Gorham House for many years with wonderful care by the staff there. Her greatest love was animals, especially while in early life on the farm with the cows, pig, and her very special dog, Susie. She was predeceased by her mother, Sallie; and a very special aunt, Dorothy. Melinda is survived by her father, Charles of Alfred; a brother, Philip Hesketh of Sanford; Philip’s two sons, Zac and Conor; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Melinda will be buried next to her mother, Sallie, at Dover Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. There will be no services at this time.
