LEVANT – Douglas B. Waltz, 76, died Nov. 5, 2008, at his residence. He was born Aug. 30, 1923, in Ashburnham, Mass., son of Arthur and Margaret (Bedard) Waltz. Doug retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Army. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying the great outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Jane (Mitchell) Waltz of Levant; two sons, Douglas E. Waltz of Texas and David C. and his wife, Jean Waltz, and their sons, Keith and Chris; two brothers, Francis and his wife, Lorraine Waltz, of Massachusetts and Robert and his wife, Jeanne Waltz, of Florida; one sister, Pauline; several nieces and nephews. Full military honors will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Augusta. Memorial services will be held Nov. 16 at the family’s home, 34 Griffin Road, Levant.
