BANGOR – Robert J. Meservey, 67, died Nov. 9, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Aug. 18, 1941, son of Joseph and Elena (Jaime) Meservey. Robert was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed fishing the Allagash Wilderness Waterway and Monson Pond. Robert spent most of his life working in construction, and owned and operated several small businesses including a dump truck operation, a taxi cab service and a woodcutting operation. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; four sons, Norman of Old Town, Barry and his wife, Toni, of Milford, Bo and his significant other, Rhonda Martin, of Old Town and Hodgie and wife, Cindy, of Bradley; 13 grandchildren, Amy, Luke, Daniel, Benjamin, Samantha, Zachary, Levi and Katelyn Meservey, Paul and Shawn Gallant, Melanie Cox, Brandy Coulombe and Heather Barnett; five great-grandchildren, Amy Anne Meservey, Abigail, Taylor, Brianna and Terrell. He is also survived by sisters, Martha Louise Ouellete and her husband, Pete, of Fountain Valley, Calif., Sylvia Woodward and her husband, James, of Sarasota, Fla., Bonnie Meservey of Bangor and Maria Meservey of South Williamsport, Pa.; brothers, Jamie Meservey and his significant other, Martha Brooks, of Pittsfield, Wilton “Woody” Meservey and his wife, Sylvia, of Fairfield Center; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Carmen Yvonne Kintz; and a grandson Eric Norman Meservey. Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Bruce Stevens officiating. Burial will be at Milford Cemetery.
