CARIBOU – Gregory D. Violette, 36, died unexpectedly Nov. 11, 2008, in Massachusetts. He was born Feb. 12, 1972, in Presque Isle, the son of Wayne and Laura (Getchell) Violette. He was a graduate of Caribou High School, Class of 1990, and also was a graduate of Wyoming Technical Institute. Greg was employed as an auto body and finishing technician, and had a special talent for refurbishing and restoring antique automobiles. Greg was a happy person, with a smile on his face, and who always put the needs and concerns of others ahead of his own. Greg loved the outdoors, especially fishing and spending time with his family camping. He is survived by his mother, Laura of Caribou; father of Madawaska Lake; sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Mark Desmond; niece, Amanda Desmond; nephew, Jacob Desmond, all of Beverly, Mass.; several aunts and uncles, including Judy and Bob Corey, and Galen and Paulette Violette; and several cousins. Greg was predeceased by his grandparents, Guy and Violet Violette, and Perry and Eleanor Getchell; and two uncles, David and Stephen Getchell. Friends may visit with the family 4-6 p.m. Monday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, where evening prayer services will begin 6 p.m. with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. Interment will be at Old Holy Rosary Cemetery. After the service, the family invites all to a time of fellowship, refreshments and remembering at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Parish Hall.
