MILLINOCKET – Frank W. McDade, 73, died unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at his camp, a place he loved. He was born April 19, 1935, in Millinocket, the son of William and Katherine (Smart) McDade. Frank was a longtime employee of Great Northern Paper Co., Millinocket. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from the Maine Army National Guard after many years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and a loving husband, father and grandfather. Frank is survived by his wife of 50 wonderful years, Jacqueline A. (Leet) McDade of Millinocket; three children, Kris McDade and his partner, Deanna, and his children, Nicole and William McDade; Earl Matthew McDade and his wife, Joanne, and their children, Tyler and Alex; and Melissa Manzo and her husband, Steven, and their children, Jared, Jordan and Kristen Manzo; a brother, John McDade and his wife, Yvonne; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will also be sadly missed by a dear brother-in-law, Charles Tapley. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by a sister, Madeline Tapley. A service of remembrance will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket, with Deacon Danny Watson, presider. Interment with military honors will be held after at Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Frank may be sent to Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field St., Millinocket, ME 04462.
