BURNHAM, Maine — No injuries were reported in a collision between two vehicles, one filled with children, on Troy Road on Friday night.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Troy Road and South Horseback Road at approximately 8:20 p.m.
Suzanne Lopez, 55, of Bangor was traveling along South Horseback Road in a 2006 Toyota Scion xB when she failed to stop for a stop sign and ran into the right front end of a 2005 Dodge van driven by Amanda Reynolds, 29, of Jackson, who was headed east on Troy Road.
The impact of the collision sent the van spinning into the front yard of a house on the corner and left the Scion in the middle of Troy Road pointed west. Neither Lopez nor Reynolds complained of injuries. Girls ages 14, 10, 2 and 1 and a 5-year-old boy were riding with Reynolds and also were uninjured. All involved in the wreck were secured in safety seats or wearing seat belts.
Damage to the Scion was estimated at $15,000 and damage to the Dodge was estimated at $9,000. Unity Fire and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
Waldo County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. James Porter, Detective Matt Curtis and Deputies Austin Reed and Ben Seekins assisted with the investigation, Curtis said Tuesday.
