Judith was a Bangor High School graduate and a life-long member of First United Methodist Church of Bangor, where she was president of the U.M.W. and a founder of RebGaKin Circle. Judith worked as a national park ranger for many years at Acadia National Park Visitors Center, where she shared her knowledge and enthusiasm for the coast of Maine, with visitors from all over the world. Here she was part of a family of friends and co-workers who shared a common respect for nature and community. Judith was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was the ultimate hostess at her camp on Schoodic Lake, and her homes in Bangor and Southwest Harbor, enjoying good food and conversation. Her beautiful paintings will be a comforting reminder of how she lived and loved life. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Charles “Craig” Steeves; and two sisters, Florence “Pat” Hughes and Margo Williams.
