FLORENCE, Ala. – Marcia Ann Ross, passed peacefully Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008. Marcia was born in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts, grew up in Calais, and had lived in Florence, Ala., since 1962. Marcia was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Florence, Ala. She volunteered her time to Habitat for Humanity and Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, where she dearly loved all the workers, volunteers and shoppers. She will be missed, but we celebrate her time with us and her eternal peace. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Arlene and Neil Donahue. Marcia is survived by her older son, Thomas Ross and his wife, Belinda, of Florence, Ala.; her daughter, Kathy Moore and her husband, Gary, of Anderson, S.C.; her younger son, Carl Ross and his significant other, Linda Vickers, of Chandler, Ariz.; her older brother, Neil Donahue of West Palm Beach, Fla.; her younger brother, Mike Donahue of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Julie Moore, John Moore, Jamie Moore, Tyler Ross and Sarah Ross. The family expresses their thanks to the wonderful caregivers at ECM Hospital. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Florence, Ala., with a Mass of Christian burial at 2 p.m. with Father Andy Sullivan, celebrant. Burial will be afterwards at St. Michael’s Cemetery, St. Florian, Ala. Pallbearers will be Gary Moore, Tyler Ross, Jim Bennett, Brad Lynch, Jimmy Sandlin and Burt Webb. Honorary pallbearers will be all her friends at Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store. Memorials, if wished, may be made to Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, 659 South Poplar St., Florence, AL 35630.
