GRAND ISLE – Daniel L. Roy, 57, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born Sept. 29, 1951, in Edmundston, Canada, the son of Herman Sr. and Leona Roy. With a profound love for the outdoors, Dan enjoyed taking pictures of eagles. In addition to his parents of Grand Isle, he is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” (Cyr) Roy of Grand Isle; one son, Greg Roy and his wife, Melanie, of Japan; one daughter, Stacy Roy of St. David; four grandchildren, Brianna, Brandon, Martina and Hunter; two brothers, Herman Roy Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Grand Isle and Paul Roy and his wife, Carmen, of Kennebunk; and one sister, Linda Dionne and her husband, Jim, of Massachusetts. A memorial service will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at St. Gerard Church, Grand Isle. Family and friends may visit with the family 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday. Spring interment will be at St. Gerard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Daniel may be made to Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, Northern Maine Medical Center, 194 East Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743. Arrangements have been entrusted to Daigle Funeral Home, Madawaska.
