PRESQUE ISLE – Arthur T. Nelder, 80, died Nov. 26, 2008, at a local health care facility, after eight and a half years of loving care at home by his devoted wife of 52 years, Beverly. He was born May 20, 1928, in Houlton, the son of Velma P and Clarence “Shirley” Nelder. Arthur was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing nearly all of his life; at one time belonging to Biggest Bucks in Maine Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as an electrician for the U.S. government for 32 years. He was a great music lover and harmonica player as well. He was predeceased by his parents; and daughter, Bette Jean. In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughters, Brenda Collins and her husband, Rob, of Londonderry, N.H., and Dianne and her family of Lewiston; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a brother, Oscar; a sister, Mona; and their families. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. David Williams officiating. Relatives and friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. A spring interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.
