HARMONY – Myrtie F. Farrin, 87, died Dec. 2, 2008, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born July 31, 1921, in Harmony, a daughter of Elroy and Ada (Hatch) Foss. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1938. She was a member of the Rebekahs, VFW Auxiliary and the Duster’s Club. Myrtie was a lifelong resident of Harmony. She was a well-loved person and devoted to her family. She and her family appreciated her supportive neighbors. She is survived by a son, Ronald and wife, Georgie Farrin, of Pittsfield; two daughters, Victory and husband, Thomas Todd, of Garland and Jayne Farrin and her husband, Stephen Freeman, of Presque Isle; four sisters, Louise Ernest of Garland, Barbara and husband, Paul Herrick, and Ada Cobb, all of Harmony and Norma and husband, Blaine Littlefield, of Burnham; three brothers-in-law, Leslie Farrin of Fryeburg, Joseph Doran of Florida and Shirley Cowette of Wellington; nine grandchildren, Victory (Allen) Glenar, Shari and Faron Allen, Amy Wilson, Nanette Ardry, Thomas and John Freeman, Kimberly Thurber and Holly Todd; 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Lyman Farrin, Aug. 18, 2001. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Levi Pratt officiating. Burial will be at South Solon Cemetery. After the committal service a reception will be held at Harmony Baptist Church.
