MADAWASKA – Fernand J. Cyr, 66, passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born June 3, 1942, in Madawaska, son of the late Levit and Annette (Lagasse) Cyr. Fernand was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was often in the woods taking pictures of all the wildlife. He is survived by his beloved son, Rodney Cyr and his wife, Diane, of Madawaska; four grandchildren, Missi, Kayleen, Nathan and Dolan; six brothers, Lionel Cyr and his wife, Norma, Gilman Cyr and Donald Cyr, all of Madawaska, Bertrand Cyr and Roland Cyr, both of Connecticut, and Ronald Cyr of Old Orchard Beach; two sisters, Martha Soucie and her husband, Malcolm, and Joanne Ayotte and her husband, Richard, all of Connecticut; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Claudette (Albert) Cyr, in 2001; and one sister, Theresa Plourde. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at St. David Church. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be held at St. David Cemetery in the spring.
