HERMON – Edward Lyle Conant, 64, died Dec. 4, 2008, at his home, after a long and courageous battle with melanoma. He was born Feb. 26, 1944, in Bangor, the son of Lyle and Ada (Shorey) Conant. Edward graduated from Hermon High School in 1962. He worked at Maine Equipment for 19 years, McLeod Well Drilling for a number of years and Maine Signs for 11 years. He was one of the founders of Hermon Skeet Club. He was much loved by friends everywhere and will be missed by all. Ed is survived by his wife, Paulette (Sawyer) Conant of Hermon; two sons, Scott Conant of Westbrook and Jason Conant and his wife, Dawna, of Hermon; two granddaughters, Ava and Ella Conant; one sister and her husband, Marjorie and Kenneth Call; one brother and his wife, Steven and Patricia Conant; uncle, Edward Shorey and his wife, Ruth; aunt, Joan and her husband, Stanley Young; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A service of remembrance will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at Hermon Baptist Church with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor, officiating.
