OAKFIELD – Joel Howard Crandall Sr., 81, passed away Dec. 5, 2008. He was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Oakfield, the son of Ossie and Lucy Crandall. He worked for many years in the trucking and logging business, what he loved doing most. He is survived by his four sons, Joel Crandall Jr. of Brookline, Mass., Kermit and his wife, Cindy, of Hodgdon, Stanley of Oakfield and Glen and his wife, Kari, of Oakfield; one daughter, Donna of Bangor; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Frost of Presque Isle; and a special sister-in-law, Elaine Crandall. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Roberta (Burpee) Crandall; and two daughters, Pearl and Cindy. He will be sadly missed by all. Graveside services will be announced next spring. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
