GLENBURN – Rita Simpson, 79, passed away Dec. 5, 2008, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born Oct. 9, 1929, in Cambridge, England, the daughter of Ernest L. and Rosa M. (Harper) Darby. Surviving are her children, David Simpson and his wife, Diane, of Glenburn, Sharon Hyatt and her husband, Randy, of Norwalk, Conn., Lori Emge and her husband, Mark, of St. Louis, Janis Murphy and her husband, Jim, of Glenburn and Heath Simpson and his wife, Jess, of Hermon; grandchildren, George and Maria Wells, Jodi Simpson, Corey Wells, Heather and Kyle Metcalf, Kevin and Kyle Hyatt, and Christopher and Jeffrey Emge; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Trevor Darby and his wife, Doreen, and family of England; and a sister-in-law, Sue Evans and family. Rita was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Roger Darby; and her mother-in-law, Carmie “Muma” Curry. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Rita’s family especially thanks Dr. Gary Ross for his kindness and care; her dear friend, Jill Bessey; and all her hospice friends. A memorial service for family and friends will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at the home of Jim and Janis Murphy, 1067 Pushaw Road, Glenburn.
