HOULTON – Lizzie Mae Schools, 88, wife of the late Cecil Schools, passed away Dec. 6, 2008, at a local health care facility. She was born Aug. 7, 1920, in Island Falls, the daughter of Benjamin and Bessie (Willey) Barker. Lizzie is survived by two daughters and one son, Charlene McLaughlin and her husband, Charles, of Patten, Joan Duff of Fort Fairfield and Jerry Schools and his wife, Beverley, of Houlton; a special nephew, who was like a son, Raymond Schools and his wife, Eleanor; five grandchildren, Heather Guimond and her husband, David, of Fort Fairfield, Kristen Young and her husband, Stephen, of Fort Fairfield, Rachel Jett and her husband, Mark, of Tennessee, Peter Schools and his wife, Liz, of Houlton and Jordan Schools and his wife, Amanda, of Houlton; and seven great-grandchildren, Nathan Guimond, Abigail and Sydney Young, Michael and Nathan Schools and Charlie and Lauryn Jett. She was predeceased by five brothers, Freeland, Ralph, Miland, Leland and Roland; and three sisters, Anne, Viona and Marion. At Mrs. Schools’ request, there will be no funeral services. Burial will be at a later date.
