ST. DAVID – Gilda Leigh Levesque, 60, died peacefully Dec. 9, 2008, surrounded by her family after a courageous fight against cancer. She was born May 4, 1948, in Caribou, the daughter of Normand and Jeanne “Sylvain” Corbin. She is survived by her mother, Jeanne Chasse of Frenchville; her husband, Roger Levesque of St. David; three sons, Wayne and his wife, Gina, of Florida, Dale and his wife, Toni, of Lille and Jason of South Dakota; one daughter, Dawn and her fiance, Scott Albert, of Hamlin; one grandchild, Chandler; one brother, Norman and his wife, Cathy Corbin, of Palmer, Mass.; one sister, Carlene and her husband, Richard Martin, of St. David; and several surviving relatives. Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, and 8:30 a.m. Saturday until time of services at Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gerard Church, Grand Isle, with the Rev. James Albert officiating. Burial will be in the spring at St. Gerard Cemetery. For those who desire donations may be made to the Edgar Paradis Cancer Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
