HERMON – Hazel K. Dinsmore, 87, wife of the late Horace Dinsmore, passed away peacefully Dec. 10, 2008, at home. She was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Truro, Nova Scotia, the daughter of Dave and Nellie DeCoste. She married Horace in 1942 and came to the U.S. to remain until her death. She worked for Schiro Shoe Co. in the earlier years and was by her husband’s side as a round/square dance instructor for many years. She loved to knit, crochet and golf. Hazel especially loved going to horse shows. She was a member of East Orrington Congregational Church and Tuscan Chapter No. 148 Order of the Eastern Star of Bangor. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Page of Hermon; three grandchildren, Julie Anne Page of Ellsworth, Tara Santa Fe and her husband, Rocco, of Hermon and John Page Jr. of Hermon; a great-granddaughter, Kylie Jade Graves of Hermon; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Hazel wouldn’t want to forget her furry friends, Oreo, Charlie, Siri, Diamond, CC, Hogwarts and Anakin. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Outer Hammond Street, Bangor, with the Rev. Carl Schreiber, pastor of East Orrington Congregational Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to join them after the service at her daughter, Nancy’s home in Hermon for a celebration of Hazel’s life.
