JEFFERSON – Marjorie Clark Hewett, 85, a resident of Gardiner Road, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Dec. 11, 2008, after a brief period of failing health. Mrs. Hewett was born June 28, 1923, in Lowell, Mass., the daughter of Walter and Laura Given Clark. She attended Whitefield High School and earned her GED from Waldoboro High School. Staying home to raise her family, she helped her husband, Lloyd, manage his construction business, tending the books and office. She was a devoted Christian and longtime member of South Somerville Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her precious husband of 63 years, Lloyd Hewett Jr.; and a son, Dennis Hewett. Survivors include daughters, Jean Clark and her husband, William, of Windsor, Ann Martin and her husband, Charles, of Jefferson, and Beth Gurney of Augusta; a son, Peter Hewett and his wife, Diane, of Hermon; sisters, Muriel Plummer of Weeks Mills, Katherine Lamkin and her husband, Roland, of Windham, N.H., Beverly Hinkley of Chelsea, and Barbara Wakely and her husband, Tim, of Augusta; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 949 Main St., Waldoboro, where a celebration of Marjorie’s life will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15.
