WALDOBORO – Norma H. Larsen passed away Dec. 12, 2008, at her home. She was born May 4, 1915, at the home farm in Easton, to Fred S. and Adelaide Ireland Henderson. Norma attended schools in Easton, Tacony, Pa., and Houlton. She graduated high school in 1932. Norma spent summers with her father in Easton, where she met her future husband, J. Vernon “B” Larsen. They married in 1936 at the Larsen family home. In 1940 they bought a farm on the Bangor Road, Easton, and built a large home in 1949. Norma was an excellent seamstress and decorator, and created a beautiful atmosphere for her family. Norma had a heart attack in 1981. A close friend gave her art supplies to occupy her time of recuperation. In 1984, “B” and Norma sold their Easton home and farm and moved to an apartment in her friend, Alice Boardway’s, home on Davis Island, Edgecomb. “B” Larsen passed away in 1989. Norma moved to an apartment in her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Waldoboro. She was known by friends as “the raccoon lady” because she fed many raccoon families on her deck. Norma is survived by her son, Jon H. Larsen and his wife, Bridget, of Easton; her daughter, Sherrill Osgood of Waldoboro; grandsons, Mark Dobson of Wiscassett, Troy Dobson and his wife, Paula, of Hartford, Conn., and Aaron Osgood and his wife, Sharon, of Falmouth; 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial in the family plot on Jan Larsen’s property in Easton in the spring. Arrangements are under the care of Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick.
