MILLINOCKET – Ellen L. King, 82, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at a Brewer health care facility. She was born Aug. 10, 1926, in New Limerick, the daughter of Harry and Mary Anne (Donahue) Crandlemere. When her children were young, Ellen was a homemaker. After they were grown, she worked at O’Donnell’s Express, Bangor as an office clerk and later at Colt’s Firearms, Connecticut for 12 years as a timekeeper. She was a member of United Pentecostal Church. Ellen enjoyed knitting, planting flowers, going on trips and playing rummy with her grandchildren. Ellen is survived by three sons, Robert “Bob” King and his wife, Michele, of Haynesville, David King and his wife, Sara, of Georgia, and Darrell King of Eddington; a sister, Annabelle Flanders of Virginia Beach, Va.; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Gloria Trainer; and two sisters, Pearl Riordan and Marion Henderson. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket.
