BRIDGEWATER – Max R. Dyer, 84, died Dec. 15, 2008, at a Houlton health care facility. He was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Bridgewater, the son of James and Clara Dyer. Max worked in the lumber and farming industry all his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, tending his raspberry bushes and especially working in his vegetable garden, that was admired by many. Max was known as a loving husband to his deceased wife, Janet Finnemore Dyer; a wonderful father to his children, Donna Boyce and her husband, Bill, Bruce Dyer and his wife, Paula, and Linda Walton and her husband, Ralph, all of Bridgewater; a wonderful grandfather, to Tammy, Christopher, Heather, Jimmy, Bobbi-Jo and Ryan; and a special great-grandfather to Austin, Jadeyn, Gracie, Morganne, Tylor, Cameron, Emma-Jo, Jacob, Lane, Abram, Vannesa and Brody. In addition to his wife Janet, he was predeceased by a son, David, whom he gave excellent care to until their passing; also a brother, Winlsow; sisters, Alice and Gracie; a special nephew, Albert Stiles; a niece, Nancy Dyer; and a nephew, Gary Dyer. The family gives a special thank you to Dr. Abouleish and the staff of the progressive care unit for the outstanding care Max received while there. A graveside service will be conducted later in the spring at Boundry Line Cemetery, Bridge-water.
