PORTLAND, Maine — Democrat Tom Allen, who’s leaving Congress after 12 years, is expressing interest in working for the incoming Obama administration.
Allen told WCSH that he’s looking to continue his career in public service but has no specific job in mind. He said one area of interest would be oceans, fisheries and climate change, while another would be health care.
He said he sees opportunities in those areas, and if they work for the Obama administration, he’d be interested. Otherwise, he says he’ll do something else. Allen has made it plain that he has no plans to run for governor.
The congressman last month lost his bid to unseat Republican Sen. Susan Collins.
