PRESQUE ISLE – Bessie M. Robichaud, 85, a special wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 24, 2008, at her home. She was born Oct. 4, 1923, in Monticello, the daughter of Leonard and Myrtle (McPherson) Shaw. She is survived by a daughter, Carole Hafford and her husband, Robert “Buzzy,” of Presque Isle; two sons and their wives, Peter and Carolyn Robichaud of Presque Isle and Larry and Phyllis Robichaud of Washburn; a special sister, Ella Capone of Massachusetts; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Hannelore Shaw of Florida and Lois Shaw of Easton; and a special brother-in-law, Rodney Pelkey of Presque Isle. Bessie was predeceased by her husband, Albert Sr.; a son, Albert Jr.; also by her brothers and sisters, Dorothy Hallet, Leona Cyr, Annie Bragdon, Leon, Lloyd and Wesley Shaw; and a special brother-in-law, Ben Capone. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. David Williams officiating. Relatives and friends may call noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Spring interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.
