ELLSWORTH – Martin J. Bozek, 85, died Dec. 25, 2008, at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born July 23, 1923, in Perth Amboy, N.J., the son of Martin J. Sr. and Margaret Novak. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Martin and his wife, Madeline, lived in New Jersey, where he worked as a carpenter for a metal and chemical company. They retired to Maine, where he enjoyed the outdoors. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Martin is survived by his daughter, Margaret A. Hennessy and husband, Richard, of Franklin Park, N.J., and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Madeline (Burke) Bozek in 1995; and his son, Lawrence J. Bozek in 2002. Friends are invited to call 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. A Mass of Christian burial will be prayed 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 231 Main St., Ellsworth, with Father Scott Mower, celebrant.
