EXETER – The Rev. Daniel G. Ellingwood, 59, died unexpectedly Dec. 28, 2008, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born June 18, 1949, in Carmel, a son of Harry and Harriet (Maloon) Ellingwood. He graduated from Ellington (Conn.) High School, Class of 1967, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He later graduated from Faith School of Theology, Charleston. Daniel also worked for a number of years as a stitcher at Dexter Shoe Co. He was a member of West Levant Church of God. In addition to his father of North Carolina, he is survived by his parents, Harriet and Ronald King of Exeter; a brother, Leroy of Connecticut; a sister, Rose and husband, Wayne Heal, of Dexter; four nephews, Darrell, Robert, Jonathan and David; a niece, Lisa; four great-nephews, Bryan, Josh, Christopher and Justin; and three great-nieces, Ricci, Sabrina and Shawna. Daniel was predeceased by a brother, Clifford. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, with the Rev. Frank Gould officiating.
