SHERMAN – Thomas J. McLellan, 80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Dec. 27, 2008. He was born June 14, 1928, in Sherman Station, the son of Thomas and Laura (Waters) McLellan. He graduated from Sherman High School, Class of 1946 and trained as a barber at New England Barber School. He practiced barbering for several years and then trained for a cattle technician in artificial insemination of dairy cattle for Eastern A.I. Co-op, Albany, N.Y. He was promoted to area manager for the state of Maine and served there until retirement. He was an avid sportsman, and loved fishing and hunting. He was a member of a bowling league, Molunkus Snow Drifters and an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed to the fullest his camp at Shin Pond with family and friends – boating, cookouts, water-skiing and playing games with his children. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy (O’Roak) McLellan of Sherman; son, Stephen and his wife, Phyllis, of Caribou; daughter, Katherine and her husband, Gil Heath, of Limerick; son, Glenn and his wife, Robyn, of Lincoln; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Jacqueline (McLellan) O’Roak of Brunswick; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special aunt, Thurlie St. Germaine of Patten. He was predeceased by his parents. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church, Stacyville, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with Pastor Donnie Willigar officiating. A reception will be afterward at the church. Spring interment will be held at Sherman Mills Cemetery. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
