ST. AGATHA – Maxine Michaud, 79, died Dec. 28, 2008, at a Fort Kent hospital, after a brief illness. She was born Aug. 30, 1929, in Perth, New Brunswick, the daughter of Ronald and Bessie “Wallace” Merrithew. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 145 of Frenchville. Maxine was a resident of St. Agatha for 56 years. She then moved to La Maison Acadienne, Madawaska, where she lived for two years, until May of this year when she became a resident of Forest Hill Manor until the time of her death. She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Michaud of St. Agatha; three sons, Dave and his wife, Dot, of Augusta, Mark and his wife, Brenda, of Veazie, and Brian and his wife, Kathy, of Berlin, Conn.; four grandchildren, Adam Michaud and wife, Jen, of Meridan, Conn., Michelle Ksyniak and husband, Joe, Derek Michaud and Melanie Michaud, all of Old Town; and one great-granddaughter, Lexi Pelkey of Old Town. She was predeceased by her parents; and one brother, Gerald Merrithew. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Our Lady of the Valley Church, St. Agatha, with the Rev. Phil Cyr officiating. Burial will be in the spring at St. Agatha Lower Cemetery. For those who desire, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
