1934 Photo OLD TOWN – Marion E. Burke, 92, wife of the late Alcide P. Burke, died peacefully Dec. 31, 2008, with her family by her side, at an Orono health care facility. She was born March 6, 1916, in Old Town, daughter of Jenny Broderick. Marion’s family was her life and her pride and joy. She worked hard to raise her family and create a warm and loving home. She was especially proud of the five-generation pictures that were taken recently. As quoted by her granddaughter, “Tiny but mighty is she: our most precious little Mama and sweetest Nana Burke. You loved us all so tenderly; you touched us so uniquely. The power of your love and goodness we have carried in our hearts always and will forever and ever. We cherish and adore you, sweet little lady, and will miss you terribly; but you will forever be with us because it is you in our hearts that reminds us to simply be good and honest and true and kind. We were so blessed to have your constant angelic love. Until we can be with you again, we will do our best to keep in touch with each other, to keep you alive as we share our own cherished memories of you. We love you, sweetest Mama and Nana Banana Burke. Lovely Lady Angels, Nana and Aunt Violet.” She is survived by four children, Sandra Brown and her husband, Ed, of Naples, Fla., Linda Willette and her husband, Parrie, of Old Town, Charles Burke and his wife, Anne, of Argyle, and Brian Burke and his wife, Georgeia, of Orland; 10 grandchildren, Pamela Hall and her husband, Jay, of Brewer, Ronda McGonigle of Bangor, Laurie Elian and her husband, John, of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., Marc E.
