HOULTON – Robert “Robbie” Wheeler, 57, passed away Jan. 1, 2009, at a Houlton hospital. He was born Aug. 26, 1951, in Macwahoc, the son of Robert and Ruby (Smith) Wheeler. During the early morning hour of 2009, God saw in his plan to call Robbie home to a better life to be freed from a life long illness. In standing on the promises of God, we know that Robbie has been made whole and will spend eternity in a better place being able to walk and see for the first time, on the golden streets of heaven with God and his family that has predeceased him. Robbie used to love to go for rides, liked to listen to the wind chimes and music, and liked to be pushed around in his wheelchair. He also enjoyed going to the Houlton Fair and shopping at Wal-Mart and Marden’s. Robbie is survived by three sisters and two brothers, Roberta and Jim Coro of Molunkus, Connie Coro and Everett Dearborn, Theresa and Rick Hodsdon of Calais, Johnny Wheeler of Molunkus, and James Wheeler and Ivana Kinney of West Enfield; aunts, Daisy of Lincoln, Barbara of Dixmont and Doris of Waterville; uncle, Harlan of New York; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his extended family and friends at Harmony Nursing Home, where he had lived for the past 30 years. In addition to his mom and dad, he was predeceased by a brother, David Wheeler; and a half sister, Paula Neal. The family wishes to thank the caregivers for all the years of dedicated care that had been provided for our brother. Robbie, we will always love you and miss you, but will see you again when God calls us home. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Graveside services will be held in the spring at New Macwahoc Cemetery. Those who wish may sign an online register and leave written condolences at www.clayfuneralhome.com.
