BANGOR and EASTON Evenel “Evy” M. Milliken, 55, died unexpectedly Jan. 10, 2009, due to complications from diabetes. She was born March 6, 1953, in Fort Fairfield, daughter of Maurice E. and Eunice M. (Ladner) Buckingham. Evy was employed with the state of Maine at Bangor Mental Health Institute for 34 years. In 2000 she received a 25-year recognition certificate from then Gov. Angus King. Surviving are sisters, Marsailes Miller of Bangor and Irene Williams and her husband, Harold, of Holden; nieces and nephews, Don and Patty Buckingham of Hermon, George Miller of Deerfield, Mich., Harold and Rhonda Williams Jr. of Bangor, David and Maddie Williams of Framingham, Mass., Shawn and Lee Ann Getchell of Hermon; great-nieces and great-nephews, Jaime and Brynn Williams of Bangor, Grace, Colin and Daniel Williams of Framingham, Mass., and Emma Getchell of Hermon. Evy was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Merle. The family invites relatives and friends to a memorial gathering of conversation and refreshments 2-4 p.m. March 7, at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
