Bucksport 61, MA Lynx 59 (2OT)

At Bucksport, Jon Goodin scored seven of his 13 points through both overtimes to help lift Bucksport past Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln in double overtime. Dylan Dedman netted 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Kyle McGeechan finished with 12 points, three assists and three steals for the Golden Bucks. Brady Vose led Mattanawcook Academy with a game high 25 points while Kane McKinnon tallied 15 points.

Stearns 68, Bangor Christian 54

At Bangor, Garren Manzo tallied 18 points to spark undefeated Stearns of Millinocket by Bangor Christian. Tyler Richards scored 15 points for the Minutemen. Brandon McLaughlin chipped in with 10 points. Brett Bradford paced Bangor Christian with 23 points while Jon Johnson added 11.

WA Raiders 67, Fort Kent 46

At East Machias, Bryce Colbeth tallied 19 points, six rebounds and three steals to propel Washington Academy by Fort Kent. Ben Teer and Matthew Smith each added 12 points for the Raiders. Washington Academy had 18 steals as a team. Matt Harvey led Fort Kent with 24 points. Jason Lesaldo added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Fort Fairfield 51, Easton 44

At Fort Fairfield, Josh Booth registered 12 points, six rebounds and six steals to lead Fort Fairfield by Easton. Travis Noyes added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the undefeated Tigers. Brad Trask and Sam Bacon scored 17 points apiece for Easton.

Central 43, John Bapst 42

At the Bangor Auditorium, Cole Haskell’s putback with 11 seconds left lifted the Red Devils of Corinth to the win. Ryan Bean paced Central with 13 points while Haskell had 10. Ryan Carr netted 13 points for John Bapst.

Central Aroostook 68, Hodgdon 33

At Mars Hill, Manny Martinez netted a game-high 20 points to power Central Aroostook to victory. Caleb Kelly added 17 points for the Panthers. Dan McGillicuddy tallied 17 points to pace Hodgdon.

Islesboro 72, Seacoast Christian 58

At Islesboro, Jason Hatch scored 21 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and notched seven assists to lead Islesboro by Seacoast Christian Academy of South Berwick. D.J. Johnson chipped in with 18 points, eight rebounds and nine assists for Islesboro and David Sherman added 13 points. Jay Archer paced Seacoast Christian with 29 points and Mark Towne put in nine.

Katahdin 63, So. Aroostook 53

At Stacyville, Brandon Robinson tossed in 17 points as Katahdin knocked off Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook. Evan McCarthy had 15 points and Matt McAvoy 13 for the Cougars. Dakota Sleeper led Southern Aroostook with 30 points.

Foxcroft 42, Caribou 27

At Dover-Foxcroft, James Johnson had 10 points, eight rebounds and three blocks as Foxcroft Academy beat Caribou. Josiah Richard led the Ponies with 12 points. Jamie Nason chipped in seven assists and four steals. Sam Robertson and Cameron Anderson paced Caribou with seven points each.

Piscataquis 77, Valley 44

At Guilford, Piscataquis took advantage of 29 Valley of Bingham turnovers as the Pirates topped the Cavaliers. Corbin Shufelt netted 16 points to lead Piscataquis. Cody Briggs and Nolan Lovell each scored 13 points while Dylan Izbicki added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Pirates. Nathan Schultz paced Valley with 10 points.

Penobscot Valley 44, Dexter 29

At Howland, senior Ethan Babineau scored all six of his points in the fourth quarter to help push Penobscot Valley to victory over Dexter. Joey McCloskey led the Howlers with 16 points and eight rebounds. Jacob Jones chipped in 12 points. C.J. Giles and Kyle Gould scored nine points each to pace Dexter.

Madawaska 49, Calais 32

At Madawaska, Jamie Cyr tossed in 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Madawaska ended Calais’ 59-game regular-season win streak. Deejay Gendreau notched 11 points and 10 boards and Brandon Bosse 11 points for the Owls. Sean Cavanaugh and Jeremy Carr had five points apiece for Calais.

Houlton 53, Lee 35

At Houlton, Houlton out scored Lee Academy 18-5 in the third quarter to pull away to victory. Senior James Bates scored nine of his 23 points in the third for Houlton. Porter Gervais recorded 10 rebounds. Tyler Doty led Lee Academy with 20 points.

Shead 80, East Grand 51

At Danforth, Tyler Mitchell and Caleb Ricker netted 13 points apiece to lead Shead of Eastport by East Grand. Ryan Bowen added 10 points for the Tigers. Kaleb Dicker posted a game-high 28 points including the 1000th point of his career for East Grand. David Cropley tallied 13 points and 14 rebounds for the Vikings.

Narraguagus 77, Calvary Chapel 52

At Orrington, Blake Chase scored 16 points as Narraguagus of Harrington defeated Calvary Chapel. Andrew Polley added 13 points for the Knights. Luke Martin paced the Sabers with 19 points. Zack Martin scored 11 points.

Presque Isle 60, Ellsworth 40

At Ellsworth, Russ Mortland had 21 points and Travis Dyer 14 as Presque Isle triumphed. Ethan Braley added 13 points for the Wildcats. Ryan Petros netted 18 points and Brad Folmer 15 for Ellsworth.

Bangor 81, Nokomis 51

At Newport, Dan Taft scored 15 points and Maxx Alexander added 13 to lead Bangor by Nokomis. Ryan Larochelle chipped in with 10 points for the Rams. Jordan Richards paced the Warriors with 17 points and Chris Braley netted 14.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bangor 44, Nokomis 35

At Red Barry Gym in Bangor, the Rams outscored the Warriors 30-13 in the second half to overcome an eight-point halftime deficit for their fifth victory. Hilary Sivik sparked the comeback in the third quarter when she nailed two 3-pointers. Stephanie Comstock also fueled the comeback as she scored all of her 10 points in the second half. Meagan Doucette added eight points for Bangor and Hillary Throckmorton put in seven. Mary Badeen paced Nokomis of Newport with 15 points.

Brewer 46, Hampden 35

At Brewer, Amy Adams led a balanced attack with 10 points as the Brewer Witches improved to 7-4. Leah Jackson and Sheri Valley contributed eight points apiece and Rylee Hutchins seven for the winners. Kayla Webb scored a game-high 11 points for Hampden.

Central 58, John Bapst 55

At the Bangor Auditorium, Bekka Campbell scored 12 of her game-high 25 points in the third quarter, during which the Red Devils of Corinth outscored John Bapst 18-9 en route to the win over the previously undefeated Crusaders. Hannah Pray contributed 12 points for the Red Devils and Jocelyn Portmann seven. Sam Gormley paced Bapst with 19 points and nine rebounds. Kirsty Moriarty had 15 points and Morgan Chasse 14.

Wisdom 28, Highview Christian 21

At Bangor, Elsie Berce netted seven points to lead Wisdom of St. Agatha to the win. Hayley Cyr and Delyia Michaud had six apiece for the Pioneers. Heather Dunsee and Brittany Loreda had seven points each for Highview Christian of Charleston.

Woodland 66, Lee Acad. 30

At Woodland, Julia Nicholas netted 18 points to lead Woodland to victory over Lee Academy. Ariel Knights scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Ashley Laking added 12 points for the Dragons. Morgan McGaw paced Lee Academy with 10 points.

Belfast 42, Maranacook 34

At Belfast, Brittany Dyer’s 16 points led Belfast past Maranacook of Readfield. Danielle Littlefield added 13 points for the Lions. Hannah Clough paced Maranacook with 12 points.

Washington Acad. 51, Fort Kent 46

At East Machias, Taylor Seeley scored six of her 20 points in the fourth quarter to help lead Washington Academy past Fort Kent. Andi Flannery had 15 points for the Raiders. Emily Pelletier paced Fort Kent with 22 points. Breanna Thibodeau scored 15 points.

Washburn 44, Ashland 22

At Ashland, Rebecca Campbell totaled 28 points, 24 rebounds and five steals to lead Washburn to victory over Ashland. Rachel Palmer chipped in with nine points for the Beavers. Macie Pelkey and Jessica Jimmo scored six points apiece for Ashland.

Foxcroft 27, Caribou 24

At Dover-Foxcroft, Vanessa Lougee scored 11 points to help lead Foxcroft Academy to victory over Caribou. Bekah Flanders and Sabrina Sharrow each hit a free throw with three minutes remaining to secure the win for the Ponies. Emily Collins and Jenna Selander scored six points apiece for Caribou.

Shead 49, East Grand 37

At Danforth, Robyn Stuart scored 10 points to lead Shead of Eastport to victory over East Grand. Kelsey Daoust netted a game-high 25 points to pace East Grand.

Southern Aroostook 52, Easton 17

At Easton, Shelby Marten tallied 13 points as Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook defeated Easton. Mataya Ryan chipped in with 10 points for the Warriors. Ashley Nickerson scored six points to lead Easton.

Camden Hills 45, MCI 34

At Pittsfield, Maddie Smeaton scored 13 points to lead Camden Hills of Rockport to victory over Maine Central Institute. Whitney Houston led MCI with 12 points.

Calais 51, Madawaska 41

At Madawaska, Nicole Osborne tallied 19 points to lead the Blue Devils past Madawaska. Tessa Clark added 11 points for Calais. Kallie Pelletier led all scorers with 22 points for Madawaska.

HOCKEY

Bangor 5, St. Dominic 2

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Darren Casey-Covell had two goals and Nick Cota two assists to pace Bangor’s victory. David Pardilla, Devon Lyshon and Noah Frost added a goal each for the 5-2 Rams. Zach Hamilton saved 32 of 34 shots. Richard Parado and Spencer Teixeira scored for 3-3 St. Dominic of Auburn. Josh Charest and Shayne Curtis combined for 18 saves on 23 shots.

Waterville 3, Brewer 2

At Colby College’s Alfond Arena in Waterville, Ian Rowe scored two goals as Waterville handed Brewer its first loss. Josh Gaudette had a goal and an assist for 7-1 Waterville. Eric Aldrich, Aaron Saucier and David Cook provided assists. Nolan MacDonnell turned away 21 of 23 shots. Nick Risser had a goal and an assist for the 6-1-1 Witches. Ryan Nadeau also scored while Tyler White and Evan Nadeau had assists. Eric White saved 27 of 30 shots.

Gardiner 6, Hampden 1

At the Kennebec Ice Arena in Hallowell, Eben Snow netted two goals to spark Gardiner by Hampden. Mike Hersom, Cam Berthiaume, Forest Chadwick and Cody Hickey each added a goal. Matt MacDonald, Hersom and Chadwick each grabbed an assist for Gardner. Chris Howe stopped 25 of 26 shots for the 7-3 Tigers. Grant Alyward scored for Hampden off an assist from Mark Eldridge. Jacob Ward made 26 saves on 32 shots for the 1-7 Broncos.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Rivier 72, St. Joseph’s 66

At Standish Saturday, Nick Bean scored 18 points and Felipe Lima 14 to lead Rivier.

Kevin Harrington added 10 points for the winners.

Chris Davis led all scorers with 22 points for St. Josephs and Elbie Murphy had 15.

Bates 77, Colby 69

At Waterville, Brian Ellis connected for 21 points and Chris Wilson of Brewer 13 as Bates held on Saturday.

Sean Wirth contributed 10 points for the Bobcats.

Michael Russell’s 22 points led Colby while Artie Cutrone and Adam Choice netted 14 apiece.

Bowdoin 61, UM-Farmington 48

At Farmington Saturday, Randy Defeo led three players in double figures with 12 points as Bowdoin earned the road win.

Tim Lane added 11 points and Paul Sellew 10 for the Polar Bears.

Eric Taylor paced UMaine-Farmington with 12 points.

Eastern Conn. 89, So. Maine 74

At Gorham Saturday, Courtney Simmons scored 21 points and Broderick Sawyer 19 to lead Eastern Connecticut.

Jamie Kohn added 15 points and eight rebounds for the winners.

Greg Whitaker of Presque Isle led all scorers with 23 points for Southern Maine. Andy Tracy had 18 points and Sean Bergeron had 17.

Fisher 79, UM-Fort Kent 71

At Fort Kent, Louis Williams had 22 points, eight assists and five steals to lead Fisher College past the University of Maine at Fort Kent Saturday.

Casey Pursell had 16 points and nine rebounds for Fisher.

Brandon Fix led the Bengals wit 18 points. Othniel Hyliger scored 12 points and Hamill Bassue and Jimmy Lopez had 10 points each.

Fisher 115, UM-Presque Isle 74

At Presque Isle Sunday, four Fisher College players scored in double figures as they rolled.

Louis Williams had 17 points and Dennis Norford 13 and 10 rebounds for the winners. Daniel Nance and William Brown added 12 points apiece.

Anthony Wingate had 14 points to lead UMaine-Presque Isle. Najee Nickel added 12 and Loren Fawthrop 10.

Maine Maritime 81, UM-Presque Isle 52

At Castine, Michael Wharff scored 15 points, all off 3-pointers, to help lead Maine Maritime Academy to victory over the University of Maine at Presque Isle Saturday.

Derek DiFrederico and Jake Manner each scored 14 points for the Mariners. Paul Campbell scored 11 points and Jarred Sternbergh added 14 rebounds.

Ben Rosser had 10 points and 15 rebounds for UMPI. Ronald Spencer scored 14 points.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

UM-Fort Kent 75, Fisher 25

At Fort Kent, Ashley Ames and Kristen Violette scored 21 points apiece to lead the University of Maine at Fort Kent past Fisher College Saturday.

Talisha Herring scored 19 points for the Bengals. Ames had 12 rebounds and six blocked shots and Amber Garrison provided 10 assists.

Jessica DiCicco led Fisher with eight points.

Bowdoin 75, Emmanuel 50

At Boston, Katie Bergeron recorded 17 points and six assists to help Bowdoin College of Brunswick past Emmanuel College Saturday.

Ellery Gould scored 13 points for the Polar Bears and Jill Henrikson chipped in 11 points. Maria Noucas had nine points and 10 rebounds.

Iman Davis had 14 points, 14 rebounds and four steals for Emmanuel. Kristin LeBel scored 15 points.

Johnson & Wales 70, Saint Joseph’s 59

At Standish, Maria Valletta scored 17 points as Johnson and Wales defeated Saint Joseph’s College Saturday.

Johanna Santosuosso had 14 points for Johnson and Wales.

Carolyn Freeman led Saint Joseph’s with 13 points. Allison Miner scored 12 points as Ashley Geel and Alysn Ludwig scored 10 points apiece.

So. Maine 72, ECSU 64 (OT)

At Gorham, Kaylie DeMillo scored 23 points as the University of Southern Maine defeated Eastern Connecticut State University in overtime on Saturday.

The Huskies outscored ECSU 19-11 in overtime.

Nicole Paradis scored 17 points for Southern Maine and Kristi Violette added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Nicky Morey led Eastern Connecticut with 23 points. Ashley McFetridge had 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Tufts 66, Bates 55

At Lewiston, Julia Baily scored 18 points to lift Tufts University over Bates College Saturday.

Colleen Hart scored 13 points for the Jumbos. Kim Moynihan added 12 points.

Lauren Yanofsky paced the Bobcats with 18 points and Val Beckwith chipped in 14 points.

UM-Presque Isle 73, Fisher 43

At Presque Isle, Erica Davis’s 19 points and 20 rebounds led the Owls to victory Sunday.

Megan Korhonen added 15 points and nine rebounds for UMaine-Presque Isle.

Jessica DiCicco had 13 points and 16 rebounds for Fisher while Tiffany Beckman also had 13.

Smith 63, Thomas 51

At Waterville, Berit Schelde scored 21 points to help lead Smith College past Thomas College Sunday.

Lisa Marie Vuono had 17 points and 11 rebounds for Smith.

Amy Miles led the Terriers with 18 points and six assists. Mallorie Blakney scored 14 points.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

Clarkson 4, Maine 1

At Potsdam, N.Y., Clarkson University scored three unanswered goals to defeat the University of Maine Saturday.

Danielle Boudreau, Genevieve Lavoie, Marie-Jo Gaudet and Gabrielle Kosziwka scored for 10-6-4 Clarkson. Britney Selina provided two assists. Lauren Dahm stopped 12 of 13 shots.

Amy Stech scored at 4:12 in the second period for the 4-15-2 Black Bears. Melissa Gagnon and Vanessa Vani provided assists. Genevieve Turgeon turned away 34 of 38 shots.
