BANGOR – Marjorie Louise Sawyer, 73, died Jan. 12, 2009, at her home, after a courageous battle with diabetes. She was born March 4, 1935, in Bangor, daughter of Cecil H. and Lillian (Sherman) Herring. She attended Bangor schools. Marjorie and her husband retired from their ceramic business in the early 1980s. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting, quilting and the Boston Red Sox. Surviving, in addition to her husband, Donald C. Sawyer Sr., of Bangor, are four children, Donald Jr. and his wife, Roxanne, of Brewer, Stephen Sawyer and his wife, Cathy, of Florida, Joan Belcher and her husband, Steve, of Oklahoma and Pamela Robinson of Bangor; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Sawyer; one brother, Kenneth Herring of Alabama; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas C. Sawyer, in 2002. A memorial service for the family will be held at a later date.
