PRESQUE ISLE – Katherine E. Pictou, 27, died unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, in Presque Isle. She was born Nov. 23, 1981, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Shannon and Sandra (Getchell) Pictou. She graduated from Presque Isle High School, Class of 1999. She was presently a student at Northern Maine Community College, Presque Isle, majoring in business administration and accounting. She was a honor student, a member of Phi Theta Kappa Society, served on the student senate and was a student representative on Northern Maine Community College Foundation Board. Katherine is survived by her parents of Mapleton; a son, Austin Broad; a daughter, Natanya Pictou, both of Mapleton; her paternal grandfather, Francis J.E. Pictou of Mars Hill; her maternal grandmother, Caroline Francis of Presque Isle; a sister, Heather Getchell of Massachusetts; and her companion, Toby Gagnon of Bridgewater. Relatives and friends may call 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be held 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Nathan Gardiner officiating.
