ISLAND FALLS – Raymond “Dewey” Webb, 53, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, died unexpectedly Jan. 12, 2009, in Houlton. He was born Feb. 11, 1955, in Island Falls, the son of Raymond S. and Marie (Lenentine) Webb. Dewey was an avid outdoorsman and could often be found riding the trails on his four-wheeler or snowsled in search of a target to plink with his .22. When not outdoors, he enjoyed loud music, playing pool or simply spending time with his family and friends. Dewey had a boyish grin that could brighten any room and even the soberest of people would succumb to his peculiar laugh. He was a guy that made any situation fun and enjoyable. Whether it be his witty remarks, his famous candid photography or his genuine enthusiasm for life with family and friends, you could neither resist his charm, nor deny his charisma. Dewey will be sadly missed by his one son, Christopher and his girlfriend, Kristen Fitzherbert and their children, Ethan and Rylee Webb, of Island Falls; one sister, Sheila Smith; one brother, Dennis Webb and his wife, Tammy, all of Island Falls; his longtime companion, Sue Ballou; his special friend and former wife, Norma Crandall; several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as countless friends. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Ben Green officiating. Spring interment will be at Island Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
