EDDINGTON – Maureen S. Waltz, 46, died unexpectedly Jan. 11, 2009, in Eddington. She was born July 30, 1962, in Bangor, the daughter of Lewellyn and Linda (Luce) Cyr. Maureen grew up in Carmel and attended Carmel schools. She graduated from Hermon High School. She had many jobs and succeeded at all of them. Her last job was coordinator of visitor services with Eastern Maine Development Corp., where she had a second family; like her many jobs she also coordinated our family; she held everything together, through the good times and the bad. She loved every sort of family activity, especially camping, particularly by the ocean, scrapbooking, crafts and sharing her joys with all the children. She was a mother in every aspect of the word. She was a mother to all the children in the family. She loved and is loved. She will be missed, but never forgotten. She is survived by her mother and husband, Linda and Don Boynton of Eddington; her father and wife, Lewellyn and Georgette Cyr of Madawaska; her son, Christopher Waltz of Eddington; her daughter, Ashley Stinson of Bangor; three brothers, Michael Cyr of New Hampshire, Marcus Cyr of Arizona, and Matthew Cyr and his wife, Patricia, of Korea; her grandfather, Stanley Powell of Carmel; her bonus siblings, Wendy and Winston Dunton of Winterport, Kathy and Jeff Cunningham of Clifton, Keely and Freddie Zayas of Massachusetts, and Kelly and Darlene Boynton of Florida; a very special young man, Cody Thompson of Texas; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson, officiating. Spring interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Carmel. If you would like to remember Maureen in a special way, please share an act of kindness with a child, a friend or even a stranger, the way Maureen would.
